Ranch Activities

If you ever wondered what it was like to be on a ranch, come have some fun for the day.  Do as much or as little as you like.  Choose your fun for the day, there are plenty of activities to choose from.

Trail Rides - Are you coming out for the day?  There are ample scenic trails to enjoy on the ranch.  You may even see some deer.  Ride the trails, creek beds, and pastures with your family and friends.  We provide the horses and an experienced guide.  Pricing depends on the length of the ride.  Trails are on 120 acres.

Hay Rides - Whether you’re an adult or a kid, you will enjoy a hay ride across the meadow and thru the woods. Any time is a good time for a hay ride but especially during the holiday season, starting at Halloween thru Christmas.  Everything is beautifully decorated for a magical experience.  Also, don’t forget about booking Valentine’s Day for that romanitc ride thru the woods.  All rides can be customized.

Cattle Drive - Ride the open range like the  old time cowboys and cowgirls.  Your time will begin with a short lesson  on a good horse.  We will practice with the cattle before we head out to the  pasture.  Then with your help, we will move the herd to the new pasture.  Ages 14 and up and experience riders.  Reservations required.

Campfire - Walk down to the firepit by the lake or enjoy a fire by the poolside.  Everyone loves to sit by a fire and roast marshmallows and smores.  Re-kindle that memory here at La Cantera Ranch Resort.  Leave here with your best memories of a fireside chat!

Fishing - With two different stocked lakes to choose from, you are sure to catch your dinner in the La Cantera Lake.  Also, Lake Ray Roberts is 1 mile away and we can “setup” a fishing guide for you to fish all day and come back to the ranch for a fish fry, Texas BBQ, or steaks!  Transportation can be arranged.

Country Western Dance Lessons - Learn how to 2 step from a dance instructor.  Whether it is the Texas 2 Step or a slow waltz, dance the night away Texas style!
